YOU KNOW MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU DO.
Let's call her MRS SMITH.
✔️ Mrs Smith fills out her intake form perfectly.
✔️ She has one clearly defined skin concern.
✔️ Her lifestyle conveniently supports the treatment plan.
✔️ Her budget matches the protocol.
✔️ She uses every product exactly as instructed.
✔️ And, miraculously, Mrs Smith's skin responds exactly the way the
textbook said it would.
Unfortunately, Mrs Smith has never existed outside of a classroom case study.
Because real clients come with a little more... human-ness.
They have a heartbeat.
And that heartbeat comes with a lifestyle.
Medical history. Hormones.
A budget and an expectation that even TikTok would scoff at
A bathroom cabinet full of products they forgot to mention.
A wedding in three weeks.
And occasionally, a skin that decides it couldn't give a flying you-know-what about what the protocol says it's supposed to do.
Protocols, treatments and guidelines are useful starting points.
But great skin therapy isn't about squeezing the client into a preset protocol.
Because anyone can follow the steps when everything goes perfectly.
And THAT is the gap the Skinside Out Squad was built to fill.
THIS is where MENTORSHIP comes in
THIS is where MENTORSHIP comes in...
1.
2.
3.
4.
You don't need me to hand you a laminated flow chart telling you exactly what to do when Client A presents with Concern B.
I want to teach you how to not need one.
That's what we do inside the Skinside Out Squad.
Twice a month, we get together live and pull apart the things that actually happen in the treatment room.
What does this actually look like with a client?
I'll model the conversation.
Show you what I do.
Play devil's advocate.
Share what I've tried, what worked and what definitely didn't.
And occasionally lovingly poke a hole in something you've believed for the last ten years.
5.
I'm far less interested in teaching you WHAT to think than I am in teaching you HOW to think.
I don't want you leaving Squad thinking:
“Now I know what Robyn would do.”
I want you thinking:
“I know what I would do. And now I know why.”
"I know what I would do. And now I know why"
I WANT ROBYN
IN MY CORNER
You can give an absolutely beautiful facial (and I have no doubt you do!)
Perfect pressure. Gorgeous massage. Every step performed exactly as you were taught.
Your client floats out looking dewy and delicious...
and you can still completely miss the opportunity to be her skin therapist.
Because skin therapy isn't only about what your hands are doing while your client is snoring themselves awake.
It's also your ability to lead what happens around the treatment.
The questions you ask.
The recommendations you make.
The plan you create.
But we're a lovely bunch, us therapists.
We want our clients to like us.
So sometimes being friendly quietly takes priority over being their skin professional.
You know Sarah's children, her upcoming holiday and the latest instalment in her sister's divorce...
but you've never actually created a proper plan for her pigmentation.
SKIN THERAPIST FIRST.
FACIALIST
SKIN THERAPIST FIRST. FACIALIST, SECOND
Your client doesn't need you to become pushy.
They need you to be willing to lead.
And I'm not suggesting you suddenly develop the bedside manner of a tax auditor.
You don't need to lose the warmth. You need to add leadership.
So when Sarah tells you she's off to Bali, absolutely ask where she's staying.
But your skin therapist brain also thinks:
Right. The flight. Sun exposure. Change in climate. What is she packing? And perhaps a contingency plan for the aftermath of poolside cocktails...
Same therapist.
Same personality.
Same lovely relationship.
Different level of professional leadership.
That's what I mean by:
Welcome to
SKIN THERAPIST FIRST
FACIALIST
SKIN THERAPIST FIRST.
FACIALIST SECOND
Not ideal for professional leadership.
The '"Friend Zone"
Lovely place.
Not because you suddenly know everything.
Because you know how to think when you don't.
YOU lead the conversation.
YOU have an actual plan.
YOUR recommendations make sense long before the client reaches the counter.
YOU understand what it's trying to achieve and know when the human in front of you requires something different.
YOU know what to look at, what to measure and where to make adjustments.
is a perfect example.
Everyone told her she was a great therapist.
She'd done plenty of courses.
None of it had really changed the way she worked.
She was stuck in the client friend zone, struggling to meet her targets and increasingly dreading going to work. She was thinking of leaving the industry!
She didn't need another treatment course. She needed help with what was happening between her and the clients she already had.
We worked on her conversations, the questions she asked, when and how she recommended home care, her rebooking and how she used her numbers to get herself back on track.
Today, she's:
⭐️ Doubled her retail.
⭐️ Doubled her cash generated per hour.
⭐️ Become the second-highest earning therapist in her clinic.
⭐️ Completely changed her relationship with her manager.
And when she has a bad week?
She knows what to go back to.
She's no longer wondering whether she chose the wrong career.
That's the kind of confidence I'm interested in.
Not loud confidence.
Not pretending you
have every answer.
Quiet confidence that comes
from competence.
The kind that says: “I've got this.”
And when you don't:
“I know how to work it out.”
There's no single “type” of therapist who joins the Squad.
Some arrive fresh out of college thinking:
“I have a qualification... why do I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing?”
Some have been beauty therapists for years and are ready to understand more about why they're doing what they're doing.
Some work in skin-focused clinics and quietly feel like everyone around them knows more than they do.
Some are dermal therapists who know the theory but want to get better at translating it into conversations with real humans.
Some are solo therapists who don't have another experienced skin therapist down the hallway to chew the fat with.
And some have been doing this for 10, 15, even 20+ years.
They're already very good at what they do.
Who's in the room?
Different qualifications. Different experience. Different modalities. Different countries.
But one thing in common:
They're serious about getting good at this.
They want to understand.
They want to be challenged.
They want to ask better questions.
They just have no intention of staying the same therapist
for the next twenty.
I'm quite protective of that.
No sales reps.
No salon owners who aren't also hands-on therapists.
No brands paying for access to you.
And no guest experts delivering a 45-minute infomercial wearing an education hat.
Everyone in the room is there for the same reason: to help therapists become better at what they do.
And that same thinking applies to what we teach.
We're brand and modality neutral.
I'm not interested in telling you what to buy, which brand is “best” or what machine everyone apparently needs this year.
I'm much more interested in:
Why do you use it?
What is it actually doing?
Does it make sense for this client?
Would you still believe that if the logo disappeared from the PowerPoint?
A little healthy scepticism looks very good on a skin therapist.
The Squad is a space to learn, question and grow and I'm intentional about the culture I create around is.
Bring the things you're unsure about. Challenge what you've been taught. Explore different perspectives.
Curiosity is always encouraged.
But kindness is absolutely expected.
I'm just as intentional about who I bring into the room.
When something sits outside my expertise, I'll happily say so and find the person who knows more than I do.
Because being a great therapist isn't about knowing everything.
It's knowing enough to recognise when you don't and knowing where to go next.
And yes, a wonderful community has grown around that. You'll meet therapists from all over the world, compare notes, chew the fat and realise you're not the only one who's wrestled with certain things.
But what makes the Squad special isn't simply having people around you.
It's being in a room full of therapists who take what they do seriously — and want to keep getting better at it.
This is the heartbeat of the Squad.
New topics. New challenges. New conversations. New things I've spotted in our industry that I think we need to talk about.
And the occasional:
“Robyn, something happened at work and I need to know what you'd do...”
Pull up a chair.
Let's unpack it.
Fair question.
Because so far I've told you a lot about how we think inside the Squad.
Now let me open the cupboards.
And they're rather full.
THE MOMENT YOU JOIN, YOU'RE NOT STARTING FROM SCRATCH
You get instant access to the vault with four years of Squad calls, conversations and mentoring waiting for you from day one.

UNDERSTANDING DIAGNOSTIC IMAGES
Because having the fancy picture is one thing. Knowing what you're actually
looking at, is another.
Rosacea • Pigmentation • Atopic skin • Vitamin A • Barrier function •
• Ingredients •Treatment planning • Client communication • Retail •
• Rebooking •
• Professional development •
And whatever else I decide we need to stick our noses into next.
Because the Squad isn't a course with a finished curriculum.
It evolves as you do, and as our industry does.
And yes, we get properly nerdy too.
*PLUS, THERE'S MORE THAN THE CALLS.
As a Squad member you'll also have access to member discounts on Skinside Out resources and training designed to help you take what we're learning and actually use it.
That includes things like:
The Skinside Out book
Consultation resources
Ready Set Grow tools
Member discounts on additional Skinside Out education and resources
Partner offers and discounts
Access to Squad events, retreats and live learning opportunities as they're released
And new resources continue to be added as I create them.
100+ Squad calls making your eye twitch?
Start where YOU are.
No homework.
No gold stars.
No “Module 7 is overdue” emails.
There's no "falling behind"
Dip into the library when you need it.
Pigmentation doing your head in?
Go find pigmentation.
Consultations feeling clunky?
There's a call for that.
Numbers gone wonky?
Let's investigate.
Disappear for a couple of weeks?
The Squad police will not be dispatched.
Professional development should support your career. Not become another job after work.
Psssst!
Since I joined the Squad and focused my intentions on being more focused on product recommendations for clients, in the first month I doubled my sales and in the second month I increased that again by 20%. Little changes with massive results. It's not been about "pushing" products or making a "sale". Its simplt been a question of "what can I do to better my clients whole experience?" Thank you. you truly are a skin angel xx"
I've spent 20 years learning skin. But more importantly, I've spent 20 years applying it.
I've built and run a successful skin clinic for 17+ years. Invested more than $180,000 in my own education. Written a book. Taught and mentored hundreds of therapists around the world. Spoken on industry stages and been recognised for my clinical work and contribution
to the industry.
And I'm still a working skin therapist.
I'm still consulting, recommending home care, leading a team and making decisions when the textbook answer doesn't quite fit the human in front of me.
Because there's a difference between knowing how something should work...
and knowing what happens when you try to do it six times on a
fully booked Tuesday.
I've stayed close to the
treatment bed.
I've questioned things. Changed my mind. Made mistakes. Tried things that sounded brilliant in the classroom but were considerably less brilliant with an actual client.
And after two decades, I can often see the bit you're missing because at some point... I've probably
missed it too.
I'll tell you what I know, what I think and why. I'll challenge you
when you need it.
And when I don't know?
I'll tell you that too.
Because the goal isn't for you to think I'm clever.
The goal is for you to become a better therapist.
If you need help growing your skills, your thinking or your career...
I'm your mentor.
By this point you've probably worked out that the Squad isn't two Zoom calls and a cute little group chat.
You're getting access to:
4 years of mentoring.
102+ Squad calls.
100+ hours of on-demand education.
Two new live mentoring calls every month.
Guest experts.
Resources.
A therapist-only professional space.
And ongoing access to me as we keep adding to it.
Yep. That's intentional.
I could make the Squad a small group, high-ticket mentorship.
I don't want to.
Because the person I built this for isn't the salon owner with a bottomless training budget.
💫 It's for the therapist.
💫 The employed therapist paying for their own professional development.
💫The therapist early in their career who is hungry to learn but isn't exactly swimming in disposable income.
💫 The solo therapist building something of their own.
💫The experienced therapist who wants ongoing mentorship without adding another enormous expense to their life.
💫 And yes, also the salon owner who looks at their team and thinks:
“I want ALL of them learning this.”
At $77 per therapist, they actually can.
I want the Squad to be something you can afford to stay in.
Because professional development isn't supposed to be:
Join > Consume everything frantically >Get certificate > Leave
You develop over time.
A lesson that means nothing to you today might completely change the way you work twelve months from now.
You'll encounter different clients.
Take on more responsibility.
Hit different challenges.
Grow into different versions of yourself.
And I want to still be your mentor when you do.
JOIN the squad
I'm here to make a BIG impact.
To create a global squad of Expert Skin Therapists who are using their skin knowledge to change more lives, reach more people and
save more skins!
I've created this membership for there therapists who are exactly where I used be. Dreaming of a career in saving skins but not sure how to get there, what courses to choose or what you needed to do. Back then I wished I had someone to ask for help, someone who could point me in the right direction and support me along the way.
The Skinside Out Squad is only open to skin therapists (beauty/dermal/skin therapists) and therapists in training. If you are not actively working with skin (i.e you own a skin business but aren't a hands on therapist, or you're a product rep on the road, not taking clients appointments) sorry, this isn't the group for you. i am a therapist's mentor. I only work with skin, beauty, dermal therapists, aestheticians and those on their journey to become a skin focused therapist. I keep this group strictly for those of us in the rooms treating the clients. If you are not a therapist and would like to work with me, please reach out for a private one on one session where I can tailor a call specific to your needs.
BEFORE YOU PULL UP A CHAIR... FAQ's
Whilst I'm down for long term commitment, you need to feel the love too.
If Squad isn't serving you anymore, you can cancel your membership anytime.
No awkward breakup conversation required.
We'll remember the good times and I'll be here if you ever want to dip your toes back in!
You can cancel your membership at any time. There is no lock-in contract
No.
In fact, this is a rather lovely time to join because you're still figuring out how everything you learned at college translates into an actual working treatment room.
You don't need to wait until you “know enough.”
That's rather the point.
Life happens.
Clients happen.
Time zones happen.
Every Squad call is recorded and added to the library, so if you can't attend live, you can catch up when it suits you.
And remember: there is no such thing as ‘falling behind.’
ABSOLUTELY! This is a GLOBAL skin squad and as therapists we all come against the same issues. English is my first language so all content will be in english and your membership rates are in AUD$. If the calls fall during a time that is not in your preferred time frame, all replays will be available in the library to enjoy at a time that works for you.
Also no.
Some of the biggest Squad lightbulbs come from experienced therapists.
Experience teaches you an enormous amount.
It can also make certain habits feel so normal that you've stopped questioning them.
If you're still curious, willing to think and interested in becoming better at what you do, you'll have plenty to sink your teeth into.
The Squad isn't designed to replace your dermal education.
It's designed to help with something formal education can struggle to teach:
how to translate knowledge into the messy, nuanced, very human reality of the treatment room.
If that's a skill you want to keep developing, pull up a chair.
Nope.
The Squad is brand and modality neutral.
Bring the knowledge you already have.
I'll help you question it, understand it and use it.
Not from a photo and three lines of information, no.
And I'd be suspicious of anyone who would.
We don't do drive-by skin diagnosis in the Squad.
Without a full consultation, history and proper context, we're speculating.
What I will do is help you develop the questions, knowledge and reasoning that allow you to make better decisions with the client you actually have access to.
No.
I'm a skin therapist mentoring skin therapists.
After 17+ years of running a business, commercial thinking inevitably sneaks into the conversation, because retail, rebooking, client retention, productivity and career progression are part of working in this industry.
But we're not building your pricing strategy or discussing your hiring strategy.
The therapist is my focus.
Each Squad membership is for one therapist.
If you've got five therapists you'd love to develop, brilliant! I'd love all five of them in the room.
They'll each need their own seat.
